Local SEO Services for Home-Service Companies

Show up in Google Search, the Maps pack and AI answers for every trade and town you serve, and turn that visibility into booked, profitable jobs.

  • Est. 2000
  • One client per market
  • Certified SEO Expert
  • Measured in profit, not positions

Local SEO (search engine optimization) is how an established plumbing, HVAC, electrical or roofing company shows up when a homeowner nearby searches for the work you do. Apuzzo Internet Marketing has been doing it since 2000, for one company per market, and we measure it in booked jobs rather than positions.

Why local SEO still decides who gets the call

A homeowner with a failed compressor in August does not browse. They type “AC repair near me” or ask their phone, look at the first two or three names, and call. If your company is not in that short list for your towns and your trades, the job goes to whoever is. That is the whole game, and it has not changed in 26 years. What has changed is the number of places the short list now appears.

Local SEO services for home-service companies have to cover three surfaces at once: the organic results on Google Search, the Google Maps three-pack, and the AI Overview that now sits above both. We treat them as one system, because the customer treats them as one answer.

What is included in Apuzzo local SEO

Every engagement is built around the searches that actually book work in your market, not a keyword list padded to look impressive. Here is what the work involves.

Area of workWhat we doWhy it matters to you
Search visibility auditWhere you appear today for the trade-and-town searches that lead to jobs, across Search, Maps and AI OverviewsYou see the gap in dollars before we touch anything
Google Business ProfileCategories, services, service areas, photos, posts, review response and the signals Google weighs for the map packThe three-pack takes most local calls

How this is different from the last agency

Most owners who call us already have an agency, or have had three. The complaints are the same every time: the report says rankings went up, the phones did not; nobody can explain what the money bought; and, more often than you would expect, the same agency also works for a competitor across town.

One client per market, since 2000

We take one company per trade, per market, at any given time. If we work for you in Naples, no other plumbing company in Naples can hire us. It is the simplest guarantee in this business, and almost nobody else offers it.

The second difference is who does the work. Frank Apuzzo has been in search marketing since 1997, when he co-founded the web division of Orlando’s first web design and SEO firm. He founded Apuzzo Internet Marketing in February 2000 and still runs every engagement personally. You talk to Frank, not an account coordinator reading from a dashboard.

The third is the scoreboard. Before we start, we ask what a new customer costs you today, what one is worth in net profit and what the lifetime value is. Then we report against those numbers every month. Rankings are an input we track. Profit is what we are accountable for.

Local SEO and AI search are now one job

Google’s AI Overview, ChatGPT and Perplexity all build their answers from the same sources classic local SEO has always cared about: a well-structured website, a complete Google Business Profile, consistent citations and real reviews. Do the foundation properly and the AI has something to cite. Skip it and no amount of “AI optimization” will help.

That is why local SEO is the first stage of the Apuzzo Visibility System, and why it connects directly to our Google Business Profile optimization, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and LLM and AI search optimization services. Same foundation, more doors.

The Apuzzo Visibility System, applied to local SEO

  1. Visibility audit. We map where you show up today for every trade-and-town search that books work, what each gap is costing, and whether your market is open.
  2. Foundation. Google Business Profile, service and city pages, technical fixes, citations and a review process. Usually the first 60 to 90 days.
  3. Answer engineering. Your expertise structured so AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity can cite it. This is where the AEO and GEO work builds on the local foundation.
  4. Measure profit, not positions. Calls by source, booked jobs, cost per lead and net profit, reported plainly. Adjust, repeat.

Who this is for

Established home-service companies: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, drain and sewer, roofing, restoration and similar trades. Real revenue, several trucks, more than one service area, and a job value high enough that one extra booked job a week changes the month. If you are just starting out, we are probably not the right fit yet, and we will tell you so.

Our home base is Marco Island, and most of our clients are across Southwest Florida, from Naples and Bonita Springs to Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Sarasota, plus Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Each city is one market with one client per trade.

Local SEO questions owners ask

How long does local SEO take to produce calls?

Google Business Profile improvements often show in the map pack within weeks. Organic page rankings for competitive trade-and-town searches usually build over three to six months, and the results compound after that. We set expectations from the audit, not from a sales script.

Is local SEO worth it for a plumbing or HVAC company that already runs ads?

Usually, yes. Ads stop the moment you stop paying. Local visibility keeps producing calls, and the cost per lead tends to fall over time while paid costs rise. Most of our clients run both, and we report them side by side so you can see which dollar works harder.

Do you write the service and city pages, or do we?

We do. Each page is written for a real search in a real town, with your services, your service areas and your process. You review and approve. Nothing generic, nothing copied from one city to the next.

What happens if my competitor calls you?

We decline. One client per trade, per market. That has been the policy since 2000 and it is not negotiable.

Do you guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Rankings are controlled by Google, and a ranking is not a job. We commit to the work, report on calls and booked jobs, and let those numbers make the case each month.
